We’ve Run Out Of Headlines For Australia

You may have already guessed this, because for the third time in four days, the Fossil of the Day, presented by the Climate Action Network, has been handed to Australia.

The Australian government have been been working hard to gradually increase the size of their fossil collection using a range of different methods, such as obtrusive conduct and working on repealing their carbon price.

In their latest demonstration of belligerent behaviour, Australia objected to rehabilitation funds and insurance provisions in the Convention process. If that wasn’t enough, it also argued that the work programme on loss and damage should be ended once institutional arrangements are agreed.

Not alone, Japan joined them with a dishonourable mention for being supportive of Australia. This makes it a trio if you include Canada.

CAN awards “Fossil of the Day” awards to the countries who perform the worst during the past day’s negotiations at UN climate change conferences. The slightly sarcastic yet highly prestigious awards are presented daily at 6pm.
