With the holidays around the corner, Australia is filling it’s Christmas stocking with a lot of coal. Day three of the negotiations saw Australia take out another Fossil of the Day presented by the Climate Action Network.

Prime Minister Tony Abbott opened parliament this past Tuesday declaring that “the adults are back in charge”. Given that this is their second Fossil already, it is clear that there is no regard for public pressure.

The government has been working on repealing the carbon price, which would make it the first country in the world to do so.

CAN awards “Fossil of the Day” awards to the countries who perform the worst during the past day’s negotiations at UN climate change conferences. The slightly sarcastic yet highly prestigious awards are presented daily at 6pm.
